Rosa & Tanner’s Superstition Mountains Elopement

Rosa and Tanner chose a secluded Superstition Mountains elopement for their romantic wedding ceremony. When they first contacted me, they were in the middle of planning a large wedding back home. The stress of planning a large wedding was beginning to overwhelm the joy of getting married. While they didn’t want to exclude their family and friends by calling off the celebration, they knew they needed a day that was focused exclusively on each other.

Tanner had already scheduled a trip full of van-life camping and exploration of Arizona. They saw this as a perfect opportunity to create an experience just for them. I helped them find a location and recommended Seventh Avenue Beauty for Rosa’s gorgeous hair and makeup, and we built out a day of adventure!

On their elopement day, we ventured deep back into the Superstition Mountains, where their only witnesses were the birds and desert wildlife. They helped each other change into their wedding attire, and found a spot that felt perfectly them to share their hand written vows. We watched birds gathering nesting materials as we hiked along a trail with lush vegetation. As the sun began to set, we made our way over to a trail that has some of the most spectacular views of the light painted across the jagged rocks of the Superstitions, creating red and purple hues towering up behind them. It was a perfect end to a magical day.

Kind Words from the Couple

We are so so happy with our experience with Shannon and Stratus Adventure Photography! We planned the elopement in very short period of time and she helped us pick out the perfect locations to what we had envisioned. Shannon was totally open and understanding to our photography preferences and we really felt like she understood our vision. The actual day was seamless and so much fun. Shannon took some time to talk with us before we said our vows to calm our nerves and make sure the moment was perfect. We felt very comfortable throughout the whole day and would do it all over again in a heartbeat! Not to mention the most important part…. THE PHOTOS ARE INCREDIBLE! They are everything we ever wanted and we really admire looking at them every chance we get. We cannot recommend Shannon enough!!
