owner of Stratus Adventure Photography…and I would love to be YOUR Wedding Photographer!
I freaking love love!
Yes, I realize this sounds super cheesy and a bit cliché, but I truly love LOVE! I am forever grateful to be able to do what I do, spending my time helping couples celebrate one of the happiest moments of their lives.
I consider it a privilege and an honor to be tasked with documenting your story, and I take that responsibility very seriously- while still having a great time!
I believe Strong Marriages make our World a better place
I believe that when people find a partner in life, it is not only good for them, but our world as a whole. We as humans are not meant to be isolated. Having steady love, trust, and companionship gives us a support system to be bold. Knowing what it feels like to be loved completely allows us to love others completely, and the benefits for everyone- our children, family, friends, co-workers, and strangers. I think we have all heard the phrase- “hurt people hurt people”. I believe the opposite is also true- “loved people love people.”
Outdoor Wedding & elopement Specialist
The outdoors are my happy place, so my favorite weddings of all sizes are ones that incorporate nature and views of gardens, deserts, or mountains. This is where I shine, as I am willing to climb a hill, lay in the dirt, or wade through freezing water to get “the shot” you have been dreaming up. And if you are feeling extra adventurous and want to hike or off-road on your wedding day, I’m your gal for that too!
Stratus Adventure Photography is an unusual name for a wedding photographer, where does it come from?
Have you ever laid on your back, facing up at the shapes in the clouds in the sky, imagining a whole other world full of adventure? From dragons in far off castles, to bunnies hopping through fields of flowers, the possibilities of what you see are limited only by your imagination! Dreaming up mythical worlds and epic adventures in the sky has been a favorite pastime of mine for as long as I can remember. When it came time to name my photography business, I enlisted the help of my son- my partner in cloud dreaming. He thought something to do with the clouds would be fun, and it the rest is history! Incorporating this limitless, free spirited way of looking at the world helps serve as a daily reminder that anything is possible. This is the same philosophy I encourage my couples to have for their wedding day- dream big, embrace the freedom to be yourself, and always remember- the sky is the limit!
What makes me stand out…
A few personal tid-bits…
My favorite adventure with my husband Rigo was our trip to Alaska. We toured the Inner Passage, visiting glaciers, fishing for salmon, kayaking to remote islands, hiking to alpine lakes, and watching bear mommas and eagles hunt during the salmon run.
I LOVE being a mom. Like annoyingly, overly involved- booster mom kind of love being a mom. This boy (now a young man) is a physical piece of my heart walking around outside my body, and I could not be more proud of him.
I come to photography after a career in the Aerospace and Defense industry where I worked on incredible, dream fulfilling projects. I am eternally thankful for a boss who believed in me and supports both my passion for space and exploration, as well as my photography and adventures here on earth.
I’m a crazy dog rescuer of more challenging dogs that others have thrown away. I currently have 2- Luna, my Staffy mix who was dumped at a local park; and Rey, my Double Merle Aussie who is deaf, has one eye, and is more than a little crazy from zero socialization as a pup. This summer we lost my soul Dog Vinny (black pup in picture) to degenerative myopathy. I’m still learning how to exist without him day by day.
