A Moody, Magical Day

Kandra and Josh’s wedding day was all about family, love, and the stunning Sedona landscape. The morning began at their Airbnb, where their daughters helped each of them get ready—Kandra in one room, Josh in another. Just before heading out, Kandra had Josh close his eyes so she could give his hair a final touch-up, a sweet little moment before the big “I do.”

At Sedona Golf Resort, the ceremony space was a labor of love—quite literally. Kandra handcrafted all of the décor, from the sola wood flower arrangements and pampas grass arbor to the wedding favors, personalized travel tags, and a wooden heart guest book. Every detail was infused with a personal touch, making the day feel even more intimate. The red rocks stood tall in the distance, framed by a sky that couldn’t decide between sunshine and stormy clouds. A few raindrops threatened so the post-ceremony brunch was moved indoors to keep everyone dry.

With their closest family gathered, the ceremony unfolded beautifully. Kandra’s uncle, a retired judge who helped raise her, officiated as their daughters led them down the aisle. It was a day about blending two lives and two families—Kandra and Josh’s five daughters stood by them every step of the way, making it all the more special.

After their heartfelt vows and a traditional ring exchange, the newlyweds celebrated with a champagne brunch and a stunning cake by Abbie Cakes. Laughter filled the dining room as their families helped celebrate the moment, proving that keeping it simple can be the ultimate perfect choice.

Once the festivities wrapped up, we set off for Secret Slick Rock, where Sedona delivered the most epic scenery. The moody clouds hung low, breaking just enough for golden sunbeams to streak across the red rock. In the distance, Mingus Mountain still held onto bits of snow, a rare contrast to the desert backdrop.

Kandra and Josh wandered across the open slick rock, soaking in the views before settling onto a picnic blanket to watch the sunset. No distractions, no rush—just the two of them, side by side, in their own little world. It was the perfect way to end a day that was entirely, unapologetically them.

Shannon was exactly what envisioned for our wedding day. Most professional, excellent quality work, and gave us photos we will cherish for a lifetime. I can’t recommend her enough. I get compliments on my photos all of the time.
