Sarai & Jose’s intimate backyard ceremony with Mariachi Band Wedding music

To say that Sarai and Jose’s intimate backyard ceremony with Mariachi Band Wedding music took me by surprise is a complete understatement!

I was home packing up all my gear for a personal evening landscape shoot up in Northern Arizona when I got a plea from a local makeup artist friend saying she was in the middle of doing Hair and Makeup for a bridal party whose photographer had just been in a car accident and would not be able to make it. The wedding was located about a half hour from me, and was due to begin in under 2 hours. I took a long look at my bags, did the calculations in my head of the likelihood they would be able to find someone on a Saturday afternoon (a day avoided by most elopements) and gave her a call. After making sure that my portfolio matched her vision, I changed into non-wilderness clothing and head their way.

Once I arrived, I was met with Sarai and her wonderful family. She was (rightfully) a bit frazzled, but we were able to slow down and make sure everything was covered, and she was able to relax and enjoy her day with her family, friends, and most of all- Jose!

A hot summer day, the guests used heart shaped fans to cool themselves as the sun dipped below the neighboring trees and Sarai walked down the isle arm in arm with her dad. The ceremony was a mix of laughter and sentimental moments shared with all their closest friends and family.

After the ceremony, Sarai and Jose’s family and friends were entertained with incredible food by with tacos, rice, and homemade salsa, while enjoying local Mariachi Band wedding music as entertainment as a surprise wedding gift by Sarai’s father. Their reception was full of music and laughter.
