Some couples dream of a big wedding—Erika and Owen? They wanted an adventure. With their dogs leading the way, they set out for an intimate, wild, beautifully “them” elopement in Page, Arizona.
The day kicked off at their Airbnb, where they exchanged gifts and keepsakes before their first look by the backyard waterfall. Owen rocked his “Just Married” socks, Erika laced up her hiking boots, and their pups—bowties and all—were ready to roll.
A scenic hike led us to the Slot Canyon trailhead, where towering red rock walls created the perfect private ceremony spot. Erika and Owen changed into their wedding attire on-site before exchanging heartfelt vows, with rings delivered via their dog’s collar. Afterward? A simple trail-side picnic—just them, their best friend Ashley, and their furry crew.
As the sun dipped, we made our way to Horseshoe Bend for jaw-dropping portraits. They popped champagne, cut into their wedding cake, and soaked up the sunset, ending their adventure with a hike back to our cars in the dark.
Back at the Airbnb, they used ink pads to create creative “marriage certificates” with their doggy paw prints as keepsakes. Then Erika surprised Owen with a scrapbook of their love story—a perfect way to cap off an authentic, adventurous day that was entirely their own.
