Photography and Planning Support for your dream Elopement

Eloping is a powerful way to step into a day that feels like you. No rules, just what matters most.

Whether you’re planning close to home or halfway across the globe, having someone who’s helped over 150 couples elope makes the whole process go smoother.

Hi! I’m Shannon

A former project manager turned Southwest elopement photographer and go-to problem solver. I would love to be your Adventure Buddy.

I’m here to do more than take photos, I’m here to help you create a day that feels as incredible as it looks. From scouting jaw-dropping locations and sharing vendor recommendations to crafting timelines that catch that golden-hour magic, we’re building more than a wedding day; we’re creating art while putting your experience first. Whether it’s hiking a mountain, off-roading to a secret spot, or chasing sunsets, we’ll make memories as unique and extraordinary as your love story.

I specialize in the desert and mountain backdrops of Arizona, Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico, but I’m available for destination elopements worldwide.

The Process

Step 1

Book Your Discovery  Call

First, book a discovery call to connect and see how we click. Bring any questions or pressing stressors you have run into so far. This is a super laid-back call meant to get to know each other and leave you feeling like you have more answers than when you started.

Step 2

Secure Your Date

Did our call make you feel like we are the perfect fit? The next step is to secure your date on my calendar. I limit the number of elopements and weddings I take on each month to give each couple one on one planning assistance as needed.

Step 3

Craft your Experience

Once you are booked, we will begin crafting your ideal day, from location scouting and vendor recommendations to timeline assistance and laying out the key details that matter most to you. If you can dream it, we will do our absolute best to make it happen.

Step 4

Enjoy your core memory wedding day!

When your wedding day arrives, I will be your photographer, hype woman, stalker-azee, and personal problem solver so you get to live in the moment and enjoy your day together- I’ve got you!

“Shannon made us feel comfortable and the entire experience was completely customized to our vision. I felt in touch and updated prior to the big day. She also helped with planning our elopement, which was extremely helpful! She is extremely familiar with the Sedona area, which made her a perfect photographer. Shannon is also genuinely kind and personable, which made her the perfect person to spend our wedding day with!”

~ Allexis & Robert

“I don’t think any other photographer could capture the scenes that Shannon envisions. She is incredibly dedicated and scouted out locations around Lake City, Colorado ahead of time, even offering to bring a chainsaw if there were any downed trees between us and the shots we wanted. She is knowledgable, up for adventure, and incredibly kind. We couldn’t recommend her enough!”

~ Laura & David

“From the first contact through receiving our elopement pictures Shannon was amazing! She was always responsive, made everything EASY, and our pictures were more amazing than we could ever imagine.”

~ Lindsey & Jonathan

What it looks like with me on your team:

You aren’t just another client if you choose to work with me. I’m fully invested in your experience. I will work to get to know you, what you value, and who you are as a couple, and then use that knowledge to artfully tell the story of your day.

How, you ask?

Before your wedding, we’ll connect over the phone or Zoom to dive into your story and uncover the parts of the day you’re most excited about—and even the ones you’d rather breeze past. I’ll craft a game plan tailored just for you, focusing on the experiences that matter most and ensuring your favorite memories are captured in a way that feels natural and true to who you are, all while leaving space for those spontaneous, unplanned sparks of magic.

That’s what I’m here for. I will ask questions and go over a customized timeline that fits what you are dreaming up. If you are still at the very beginning stages of planning and unsure of locations and activities, we can always begin with a smaller package and add on more time as we fill in the details.

This is a great question, because sometimes these two can have overlap depending on your specific needs.

Elopements and Micro-Weddings *may* have a venue for a portion of the day, but a limited guest list of 25-50 guests. The flow of the day is more laid back and there are less of the traditional timeline elements.

I book out 12-18 months in advance for prime months. But don’t let that scare you away from reaching out. Depending on my schedule, I have been able to squeeze in couple’s as soon as the same week in some cases. The great thing about specializing in non-traditional weddings is that they fall on all days of the week, not just weekends!

Choosing an elopement or wanting adventurous nature portraits does not mean you have to hike a mountain! There are plenty of gorgeous gentle access locations available.

This depends on your location, amount of people, and setup. If you are interested in a State Park, National Park, or BLM land, plan on needing one. This also affects how much planning time you will need, as they can take 30-60 days depending on the land manager. For many National Forest lands a permit is not needed for small elopements without setups (arches, benches, free standing decor).

Sure is! You benefit from my spread-out family 🙂

I mostly work in Arizona and Utah from late September through May, then travel between family members’ land throughout Colorado and northern New Mexico during the summer months of June to early September.

I love an excuse to pop in for a visit anytime, so it’s always a win-win in my book!

I help with location research, timeline creation, vendor recommendations, packing lists, gear items, etc. I give guidance, but it’s up to you to contact your preferred vendors and book your travel. Because I’ll be focused on documenting your wedding, I can’t be the one providing “day-of” planning or assistance (like vendor coordination or dinner set-up). If you’ll need an extra set of hands, adding our day-of coordinator is recommended.

Believe me when I say this is the rule, not the exception.  Most people feel this way, including almost every couple you see on my site.

Don’t worry- I’ve got you.

During our pre-wedding meetings, we go through the type of images you are drawn to. Then, on your wedding day, I watch how you naturally interact and guide you with activities that bring out real emotions and connect you to each other. The joy and connection you feel for each other are what make great, flattering photos.

Absolutely!  I 100% want to meet (and photograph) them.  I do suggest having a family member or friend available to help with them so you can relax and be present during portraits without them.

I do not offer mini sessions or super short elopement coverage. If you want less time than what is listed above, the price does not change.
