Full Day Sedona Summer Elopement with Family and Off-Road Sunset Adventure Portraits
Corina and Ian traveled from Canada to get married in the desert. They brought their loved ones along and kept the day easygoing, making time for each other, their families, and the beauty of Sedona.
We began at Munds Wagon Trail just before sunrise. The air felt cool, the desert was quiet, and everyone eased into the morning. On our way to the ceremony spot, a curious javelina even showed up to say hello. Summer Elopements in Sedona require a bit of planning for the heat, so keeping the guest portion to early mornings before the desert gets too hot is always a great plan.
They stood on a handwoven rug from home while Corina’s stepdad led the ceremony. They shared handwritten vows, exchanged rings, and mixed in some laughter and a few tears. The whole moment felt personal and real.
After the ceremony, everyone celebrated with hugs and group photos. Then we went back to the Airbnb for a barbecue lunch reception.
The midday break was relaxed, with people hanging out, sharing food, and chatting. I captured candid moments, some getting-ready-again photos, and a few 80s-inspired shots that became some of my personal favorites.
After the break, we headed out for Broken Arrow elopement portraits. The wind was crazy strong and whipped at Corina’s dress and veil constantly. It was giving everything a raw, unfiltered feel that fit perfectly with their romantic and silly vibe. Their style matched the setting perfectly: cowboy hats, Ariat boots, warm desert tones, and dried florals. Everything blended with the landscape.
As the sun set, we stayed out through blue hour and into the night. Lanterns lit up, the sky cleared, and the Milky Way appeared overhead, ending their Broken Arrow elopement with a final quiet moment in the desert.
It was a full day that began quietly, built up energy, and finished beneath the stars.
